Blood Cathedral

This project was part of my Architectural Study practice. The inspiration came from the Maria Empfängnisdom in Linz. I modeled the building entirely from scratch in Blender, just from photoreferences. The cliff was created using a basic mesh which has adaptive subdivisions and a displacement texture applied to it. The falling lava was simulated in Realflow and shaded in Blender. The entire mood was inspired by the game “Elden Ring” and the final render was exported in Blender. I also used Adobe After Effects for some final compositing, such as color grading, adding the stormy clouds and intensifying the volumetric light rays.
